The data form for each lab, with the method and what the write-up has to include.

Lab 3: densitySeptember 15The method and both data forms from the posted lab notes: unknown liquid by weighing by difference, unknown solid by displacement. You do the arithmetic; a Check button tells you whether your masses, volumes, densities, average, standard deviation and percent error agree, without giving the answers.

Formal report: Lab 4, hydrates

Due at the start of Lab 5.

Lab 3 does not need a formal report. Lab 4 does, and it has to be typed and in the third person. These sections come from the posted lab notes; tick them off as you write.

Lab 4 is the dehydration of hydrates. The notes preview it as moles, atomic weight, formula weight and empirical formulas, with textbook sections 3.1 and 3.2. Office hours next week cover moles and formula weight; there are none this week.
